Update on Typhoon Odette Death Toll Based on PNP Data

TYPHOON ODETTE DEATH TOLL – The Philippine National Police (PNP) revealed the current total count of deaths due to Odette.

Massive preparations were done as Typhoon

Odette

was forecasted to be a strong storm to hit the Philippines. For the safety of the people in flood-prone areas, the authorities also conducted preemptive evacuations. Local governments and some private sectors also canceled work so people can go home and prepare.

Typhoon Odette brought massive rains that caused floods in different cities in the Philippines. The provinces of

Negros Occidental and Negros Oriental

are among those that experienced flood due to the typhoon. Both provinces are currently under a State of Calamity.

Aside from the heavy downpour, Odette also brought strong winds that damaged several houses. Many people lost their homes to the onslaught of the typhoon now and they are staying in temporary shelters and evacuation centers.

Deaths were also recorded due to the onslaught of Typhoon Odette. The Philippine National Police (PNP) recently released an update on the Typhoon Odette death toll.

, currently, the Typhoon Odette death toll reached 375. The PNP records showed that there are currently 56 missing individuals.

Most of the fatalities were logged in the Caraga region and Central Visayas that recorded 137 and 170 deaths, respectively. In Western Visayas, 24 people lost their lives amid the wrath of Odette while six (6) in Eastern Visayas, one (1) in Western Mindanao, and seven (7) in Northern Mindanao.

With regards to the 56 missing individuals, PNP said that 47 were recorded in Central Visayas, eight (8) in Caraga, and one (1) in Eastern Visayas. Records showed that 500 were injured (364 in Central Visayas, 118 in Caraga, 15 in Eastern Visayas, and 3 in Northern Mindanao) due to Odette.
