Netizens Appeal to NHCP to Probe Darryl Yap’s Film for Allegedly Violating Flag Law
Some netizens are calling the attention of the National Historical Commission of the Philippines (NHCP) after director Darryl Yap’s film violated flag law.
Netizens have petitioned the NHCP to study, assess, and act on Darryl Yap’s film “P*rnstar 2: Pangalawang Putok,” which is now accessible on Vivamax. According to netizens, a moment in the film depicts an incorrect style of performing the Philippine national anthem.
The quote cards created by an entertainment website are spreading, with one of the scenarios featuring the four stars Rosanna Roces, Ara Mina, Alma Moreno, and Maui Taylor singing a version of the Philippine National Anthem, “Lupang Hinirang.” They curse the four newbie p*rnstars who will take their position on the throne in such a scene.
“Bayang malibog, perlas ng silanganan/May alab ng suso, sa dibdib mo’y buhay na buhay/Sa dagat at bundok, sa silong at sa singit ninyong uhaw/Buhay ang langit sa k*ki ninyo,” sang by the stars.
As a result, the internet community expresses its displeasure with the film. They claim that the film disrespected the national anthem and that they should be punished for breaking the Philippine flag legislation.
Meanwhile, Darryl Yap’s film, which has yet to be seen in its full, has a Facebook post with netizens who immediately evaluate it. He stated that people have no right to pass judgment on the film if they have not seen it in its entirety and that he cannot explain it to them.
“Dami ring nagtatanong kung hindi ba ako magrereak sa kumbulsyon ng mga hindi naman napanood ang #P*rnstar2 pero andaming bintang,” he wrote.
“Hindi ko po alam ang pinagsasabi n’yo, at alam ko po kapag di mo alam at di mo napanood- walang basehan ang kahit anong salita. Hindi ko po maipapaliwanag ang pelikula at lalong hindi ko kayang ipaintindi sa inyo ang wala sa inyong kapasidad,” he added.
