2 Carnappers Tracked Down by Cops After the Vehicle They Stole Has GPS Tracker
Police authorities arrested two (2) carnappers after they were tracked down due to the GPS tracker of the vehicle they have stolen.
Because of the GPS tracker installed in the van they stole in Tondo, Manila, officers from the Manila Police District (MPD) were able to track down the two vehicle thieves in Bulacan. Pipoe Silverio, a 43-year-old security guard, and Alvin Castro, a 33-year-old construction worker, both of Bagong Barrio, Caloocan City, were identified as the suspects.
They are already in the custody of MPD-Police Station 1, according to the report. It was learned that at 2:00 in the morning, the suspects stole the silver Toyota Hi-Ace van from ZESTAR Corporation’s warehouse at No. 2361-A Juan Luna St., Gagalangin, Tondo.
According to Ryasan Sanchez, ZESTAR’s warehouse supervisor, he learned that the van was missing at the said time. When asked by the cops, he said that the vehicle was equipped with a GPS (Global Positioning System) tracker. As a result, the authorities used technology to track down the suspects.
When the van was tracked, they discovered it was in San Miguel, Bulacan, according to the police report. The MPD, together with the Bulacan Provincial Police Office, promptly initiated an operation against the suspects and headed to the pinned location, which resulted in their arrest. At the Manila Prosecutors Office, the two suspects were charged with carnapping.
