Speeding SUV Caught on Cam Rams Tricycle Driver, Passenger that Resulted to Death

Video footage shows a tricycle along with a driver and a passenger passing a bridge rammed by a speeding SUV that resulted in their death.

The tricycle driver and one of his female passengers were killed, according to the report, when an SUV crashed with their vehicle on the Malabon bridge. The trike driver even took to the air and flew into the river.

According to the police report, the victims were tricycle driver Norberto Pinuela, 65, and his passenger Novelina Esto, 54. Pinuela was traveling slowly over the Lambingan bridge in Barangay Concepcion when an oncoming SUV suddenly landed in their path and collided with the tricycle, according to the

The front of the SUV was shattered in the crash, while the tricycle’s sidecar detached and Pineula was flung into the river. The next morning, Pinuela’s body was discovered in the nearby town of Navotas.

Kim Russel Sioco, the SUV’s driver, has been arrested and is being held at the police station. During the police inquiry, it was discovered that Sioco had left the party and was driving home with his wife when the tragedy occurred.

Authorities will investigate if Sioco was inebriated at the time of the accident or was distracted while driving according to reports that he and his wife were fighting on the trip. Sioco collided with two more cars in addition to the tricycle.

Sioco declined to provide a statement, therefore Pinuela’s family decided to pursue the case against him. Sioco will almost certainly be charged with reckless imprudence resulting in many homicides.
