Over 1 million doses of Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine arrive in PH

MANILA, Philippines — More than one million doses of the US-made Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine were delivered to the Philippines on Monday night.

A plane carrying a total of 1,085,760 government-procured Pfizer doses landed at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 3 at around 9 p.m., according to a livestream of state-run PTV.

The delivery came hours after nearly two million doses of another US-made vaccine, Moderna, arrived.

As of Dec. 2, the total of COVID-19 vaccine doses delivered to the country was 146 million.

The government is currently administering vaccine doses to minors aged 12 to 17 and booster shots to health workers, senior citizens, and persons with comorbidities.

Pfizer and Moderna vaccines can be used for minors and booster shots.
