MANILA, Philippines — The COVID-19 reproduction rate in Metro Manila is down to 0.35 from November 29 to December 5 this year, lower than the 0.92 recorded during the same period last year, independent group OCTA Research reported Monday.
Reproduction rate indicates how infectious a disease is or the number of people infected by one case.

OCTA Research fellow Guido David said that nearly all indicators from November 29 to December, 2021 have gone down when compared to data during the same week-long period last year.
“NCR this past week compared to last year. The testing level is around the same, but nearly all indicators are better now,” David said in a tweet.

David also reported that the daily attack rate (from 2.61 in November 29-December 5 last year to 0.79 in November 29-December 5 this year), positivity rate (from 3.7 percent to 1.1 percent), and hospital bed occupied (from 2,246 to 1,765) have gone down.
The ICU beds occupied, however, slightly increased from 322 to 350, said David.
OCTA earlier reported that Metro Manila is now at
very low risk status for COVID-19.
