Jessy Mendiola On How She Almost Lost Business During The Pandemic

At the start of the pandemic, Jessy Mendiola almost closed down their business but this happened.

JESSY MENDIOLA – Celebrity couple Jessy Mendiola and Luis Manzano almost closed down their joint scent business at the start of the pandemic.

A lot of businesses have been established and become stable amid the

pandemic

but also a lot has been permanently closed down because of the lockdowns and restrictions. Such factors have shied away customers causing severe losses to these businesses. Not only the business owners are affected but also the employees. The close-downs resulted in devastating job loss in the country and it’s all because of the pandemic.

And this kind of business struggle is something Lucky8Lulu has not dodged. The said scent business is owned by celebrity couple Jessy Mendiola and

Luis Manzano

. Because of the pandemic, they almost gave up. They almost lost their business. This is because their stalls are located in malls, a public place is among the most affected public establishments in the country. For a length of time, malls have been closed down and stopped operating temporarily.

Opening up about their struggle, Jessy shared,

“Alam niyo bang we almost closed down last year nung nag-start yung pandemic. Kasi di ba may kiosks kami sa malls tapos parang nag-usap kami na feeling ko it’s not going to do well so we were planning to close it down, the whole business.”

However, they discovered selling it online. This way is very convenient and the safest to communicate and sell products to other people. Online selling does not require any physical interaction. And after doing this, their scent business became bigger.

She added based on a

report

from PUSH,

“Hindi namin namalayan na dumadami na pala yung mga distributors and resellers. Steady na siya. And it’s nice di ba na ang daming natutulungan. Na hindi ka na mag-iisip ng negosyo, may negosyo ka na.”

When it comes to businesses, it was actually her husband who encouraged her to do it but when it comes to saving, she gave the credits to her family. Currently, she’s not under any network. Jessy is a freelancer and she’s open to doing good projects in the future. For now, what she prioritizes is her health.
