MANILA, Philippines — An alleged rider of a popular food delivery service was arrested Wednesday morning for yielding shabu or crystal meth in Sta. Cruz, Manila, police said.

“After confirming that the said suspects were involved in an illegal drug transaction, the arresting officers rushed towards the said suspects and a brief chase ensued that resulted in his apprehension and recovery of the evidence,” the MPD said in its report.

The unidentified man, however, managed to escape, the MPD report added.

Police said they seized from Delos Santos three grams of suspected shabu with an estimated value of P20,400 and a Yamaha Mio Soul, among others.

Police said the suspect will face charges in violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
