which is the Filipino version of

Starting Now

, the official anthem of Disney’s Ultimate Princess Celebration. It was first recorded by Grammy Award-winning singer Brandy. Late last month, Maris revealed that she recorded a song for Disney.

Based on the article in PUSH, it was Rico who convinced Maris to accept this offer. The singer-actress admitted that she was hesitant at first because it is a huge project and that she felt pressured.

She also can’t believe that she was chosen to do this project.

“Parang medyo na-pressure nga ako mag-yes pero like nag-yes talaga ako kasi it’s such a huge opportunity at dream ko talaga sila maka-work,”

she said. The said song was inspired by Disney Princesses and Queens and celebrates “the heroines who fill the world with courage and kindness.”

Fortunately, she got support from her boyfriend in this big opportunity for her career. “

Rico is the manager of her label and so Disney contacted him.

“He just really said na, ‘Oh my God, kunin mo na ‘to. Ayusin mo ‘yung schedule mo para ma-fit ‘to.’ He’s been very, very supportive,”

the singer-actress said.

Maris is thankful for her relationship with Rico as they are very supportive of each other’s careers. She also shared that her boyfriend is the one encouraging her to accept a certain project if she is reluctant about it. This is the reason why she calls

their relationship

“special” as they bring each other up.
