Sotto confirms signing order to detain Pharmally execs in Pasay City Jail

MANILA, Philippines — Senate President Vicente Sotto III on Sunday confirmed having already signed the order sending Pharmally Pharmaceutical Corp. executives Mohit Dargani and Linconn Ong to the Pasay City Jail for detention.

This came after the Senate blue ribbon committee ordered the

detention of Dargani and Ong

for again failing to provide the necessary documents needed in the investigation.

“Yes I signed it as requested by the Blue Ribbon Committee,” Sotto told Inquirer.net.

Sotto added that Dargani and Ong will be transferred to the Pasay City Jail “as soon as possible.”

Dargani and Ong are still being held in detention at the Senate complex after Ong was cited in contempt for being evasive and after Dargani did not attend the hearings.


Pharmally

is still currently being investigated by the Senate blue ribbon committee over alleged irregularities in government deals worth billions of pesos for COVID-19 response supplies despite having a paid-up capital of only P625,000.
