QC Residents Queued at City Hall Thinking It Was Cash Aid Distribution

Quezon City residents queued at the city hall after seeing people lining up for LGU’s program thinking it was a cash aid distribution.

The hundreds of residents got into an intense commotion and violated the health protocols at Quezon City hall after seeing people queueing at the building. The people initially thought that it was a distribution of financial assistance.

A lot of people trooped to the city for the local government unit’s pangkabuhayan program. The people queued a few days before the deadline. The Quezon City government set the deadline of the program until November 2, 2021.

QC Mayor Joy Belmonte clarified that the city hall was just accepting application forms from applicants. The people carried their application for the program lined up with the aim to receive the P20, 000 cash assistance.

The people were considering the amount as a great help especially during this time of coronavirus pandemic.

Mayor Belmonte has also issued a public apology for the incident. She also assured the public that the incident will never happen again until the deadline. The residents even queued a night before the registration.

The QC residents initially though that they might receive cash assistance after submitting an application and requirements for the program. The applicants need to undergo verification, training and other procedure, according to the LGU.
