Pagasa: Cool, cloudy Friday with isolated rain showers as ‘amihan’ intensifies

MANILA, Philippines — A cool Friday morning, along with cloudy skies and isolated rain showers are expected in Luzon and Visayas  on Friday due to the intensified northeast monsoon or “amihan,” the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) reported.

Cloudy skies with scattered rain showers are expected in the southern part of Quezon and the Bicol region while the rest of Luzon, including Metro Manila will experience a fair weather, with cloudy skies and chances of isolated rain showers, Pagasa said.

Pagasa added that cloudy skies with rain showers are also expected over Eastern Visayas  due to the northeast monsoon.

Meanwhile, the rest of Visayas and Mindanao will experience fair weather, with cloudy skies and chances of isolated light rain showers, the state weather bureau added.

Pagasa raised gale warning over Batanes and Babuyan Islands due to strong winds brought by the northeast monsoon.

Waves could be as high as 4.5 meters, said the state weather bureau.
