Amihan brings rains to most parts of Luzon on Tuesday
MANILA, Philippines — Most parts of Luzon on Tuesday will experience rainy weather due to the northeast monsoon, commonly known as amihan, the state weather bureau reported.

“Sa ngayon umiiral na nga ‘yung amihan o yung northeast monsoon sa nakararaming bahagi ng Luzon,” said Pagasa’s senior weather specialist Chris Perez in a public weather forecast.
(For now, the amihan or the northeast monsoon is now prevailing in most parts of Luzon.)
Cagayan Valley, Cordillera Administrative Region, Aurora, Quezon, Camarines Provinces, and Catanduanes will experience cloudy skies with rains, while Ilocos region expects partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains, according to Pagasa.
Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have a fair weather condition with partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms, Pagasa added.
While having no effect on the country’s weather, Pagasa is also monitoring two typhoons outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility.
Tropical Storm Malou (international name) was monitored 1,760 kilometers east of northern Luzon with maximum wind of 75 kilometers per hour (kph) with gustiness of 90 kph, moving north at 15 kph.
A tropical depression was also detected 630 kilometers west of Kalayaan Islands in Palawan, with maximum with of 45 kph and gustiness of 55 kph, moving western slowly, according to Pagasa.
The two typhoons are unlikely to enter the PAR in the coming days, according to Perez.
“Unahin natin itong bagyo na may international name na Malou. Inaasahang kikilos pa-hilaga at hindi papasok ng ating area of responsibility. Samantala dito naman sa West Philippine Sea, ang tropical depression ay inaasahang magma-landfall dito sa Vietnam area. So basically, bagyo-free tayo for the next two to three days,” Perez said.

Meanwhile, a gale warning was raised in the seaboards of northern Luzon with 2.8 to 4.5 meters of waves, according to Pagasa.
Pagasa officially declared the
amihan season
on Monday.
