361 out of 2,367 pass October 2021 CPA licensure exam

MANILA, Philippines — The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) announced that 361 out of 2,367 aspiring accountants passed the October 2021 Certified Public Accountant Licensure Exam (CPALE).

The number of passers accounts for 15.3 percent of the total examinees. This is higher compared to the last CPALE held in 2019, where only 14.32 percent passed.

The total number of examinees for this year, however, is significantly lower. A total of 14,492 aspiring CPAs took the exams in 2019.

No examinees also qualified as topnotchers, while no schools qualified as “top performing schools” in the exams this year, according to the PRC Board.

These results were released on Tuesday, following the last day of the CPALE held at testing centers located in Baguio, Cagayan de Oro, Cebu, Davao, Iloilo, Koronadal, Legazpi, Lucena, Pagadian, Rosales, San Fernando, Tacloban, Tuguegarao and Zamboanga on October 10 to 12, 2021

Meanwhile, the entire region of Metro Manila wasn’t included in those able to take the CPALE in October after the PRC postponed and rescheduled their examination to December 16 to 18, 2021 due to the extension of the General Community Quarantine Alert Level 4 in the said region until October 15.
