PDEA Warns Public vs Politicians Involved in Illegal Drugs Running on 2022 Election

The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) has warned the public not to vote for politicians running for the 2022 election that has involvement in illegal drugs.

PDEA Director General Wilkins Villanueva advised the public to vote no on candidates for the 2022 election who had been arrested for illegal drug activity. According to Villanueva, those candidates do not deserve the Filipino people’s vote.

“Dismiss candidates who are involved in illegal drug activities. They do not deserve your votes. We urge the voting public to choose wisely our next leaders,” said Villanueva.

and four others at a checkpoint conducted in Mountain Province due to an illegal plant. Based on the previous report, the anti-narcotics authorities seized 19 blocks of dried marijuana leaves estimated to be worth ₱ 2,280,000 and a black Toyota HiAce Grandia.

The suspect was identified by PDEA agents and members of the Philippine National Police (PNP) as a former cop who ran for mayor in Sabangan, Mountain Province, in the 2022 elections. His four companions, one a 17-year-old, were also apprehended.

Aside from the illegal plant, ammunition for a 9mm gun was also seized. The suspects and evidence were taken to the Sadanga Municipal Police Station for processing, and the youngster was given over to the town’s municipal social welfare and development office.

“Your vote is precious and please treat it that way. If we want to attain drug-free communities, we should opt for leaders who genuinely defend the nation from illegal drugs, ” Villanueva added.
