Rescue underway for woman swept away by raging river in Ilocos Norte
LAOAG CITY—A 33-year-old woman from Badoc town in Ilocos Norte had gone missing Monday due to the strong river current and flashflood brought by Severe Tropical Storm “Maring” (Kompasu), according to a report Tuesday by the provincial disaster risk reduction management and resilience council (PDRRMRC).
A search-and-rescue operation was launched to look for the woman from Sitio Lasien, Barangay Nagrebcan.

The PDRRMRC said the raging water swept away the woman crossing the Badoc river with three others on board a cart pulled by a carabao.
Her companions survived as they managed to swim to the riverbank, authorities said.
