Only 1.7% of Central Luzon cops remain unvaccinated vs COVID-19

MABALACAT CITY, Pampanga — Only 263 police officers in Central Luzon or 1.7 percent of the region’s 15,455 total police force remain unvaccinated against COVID-19, data from the Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3) Health Service showed.

As of Tuesday, Oct. 12, the health service said some 12,660 or 81.9 percent of the police officers in the region have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19.

Data also showed at least 2,532 or about 16.4 percent of 5,455 uniformed officers belonging to the PRO3 and regional support units have received the first dose of the vaccines and are still waiting for their second dose.

The health service said the fully vaccinated officers include 2,076 who got the single-dose Johnson & Johnson vaccine.

It said 2,711 police officers were vaccinated by the PRO3 medical and dental unit while 12,481 received the vaccines from the local governments where they are assigned as front line personnel in essential sectors under the A4 priority group.

The number of police officers in Central Luzon changes from time to time due to the transfer of officials and personnel to and from the region.
