Ray Parks limited in B. League debut; Nagoya drops to 0-3

MANILA, Philippines—Nagoya and Bobby Ray Parks Jr. suffered their third straight setback after losing to Hiroshima, 98-90, in their West Conference matchup in the Japan B.League Saturday at Dolphins Arena.

Parks, whose Japan debut was delayed

due to injury

, was quiet throughout the game finishing with a meager line of two points, three rebounds, three assists, and one steal in 12:58 of play.

The Dragonflies and the Diamond Dolphins were locked in a back-and-forth contest in the first quarter but Hiroshima pulled away in the second after Naoto Tsuji caped off a 15-2 run with a three-pointer for the 46-33 lead late in the period.

Nagoya got to within four, 76-72, early in the fourth but the Dragonflies retaliated with a quick 6-0 run that Nick Mayo capped off with a jumper for Hiroshima’s 82-72 lead two minutes into the quarter.

The Diamond Dolphins dropped to a 0-3 card at the bottom of the conference while Hiroshima grabbed hold of top spot at 3-0.

Naoto finished with 27 points, going 7-of-8 from deep and 10-of-11 overall, and four assists to lead the Dragonflies while Terashima Ryo added 16 points and five assists.

Saito Takumi had 23 points, three rebounds, and seven assists to lead Nagoya.
