Entangled balloon halts LRT-2 ops; resumes after few minutes

MANILA, Philippines — The tie of a ballon that got entangled in the way of the Light Rail Transit Line 2 (LRT-2) between Pureza and V. Mapa stations in Manila had caused a temporary halt in its operations, railway management said Saturday morning.

Operations resumed after several minutes once the offending material was removed.

“The Light Rail Transit Authority Line 2 system is currently implementing a CODE RED/temporary Stop Operations due to entangled balloon in between Pureza Station and V. Mapa Station,” the railway management said over Twitter at 8:09 a.m.

“We apologize for the inconveniences,” it added.

In a separate tweet at 8:30 a.m., the LRT-2 management said the code red status has already been lifted.
