Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte Says Sen. Imee Marcos Wants To Be Sara Duterte’s 2020 Running-mate

IMEE MARCOS – President Rodrigo Roa Duterte said Senator Imee Marcos wants to be Sara Duterte-Carpio’s 2022 running-mate.

. During her interview with ANC’s Headstart on Aug. 26, she said her brother former senator

would be “honored” to be Sara Duterte’s running mate.

“Everything’s possible but I supposed the most obvious thing is if the Dutertes have the solid south, we’re assumed to have the solid north. Parang marriage made in heaven yan,”

she said.

In a taped speech aired on Tuesday, August 31, President

Rodrigo Roa Duterte

claimed Imee Marcos is eyeing to become the running mate of his daughter in the 2022 election. He revealed that the senator visits Sara in Davao hoping to be her VP running mate.

“Si Imee, ganito ang laro n’yan, pinupuntahan niya si Mayor Duterte sa Davao, hoping na magtakbo ‘yon, siya ang maging bise,”

he said.

But president Rodrigo Roa Duterte said he thinks

Sara Duterte-Carpio

will not run for president.

“Hindi naman tatakbo, sabi niya. Sabi ni Mayor Sara Duterte, hindi siya magtakbo, kaya sabi ko magtakbo ako ng vice presidente. Bakit? Walang oposisyon,”

he said.

Sara meanwhile said that the public will have to wait until October on whether she would run for president or not.
