Pacquiao Camp Emphasizes That “Go-Duterte” Tandem Only A “Decoy”

PACQUIAO CAMP ON “GO-DUTERTE”

– Fighting Senator Manny Pacquiao’s camp said that the tandem of Senator Bong Go and President Duterte in the 2022 elections is merely a “decoy”.

Recently, reports buzzed as Duterte said during his weekly public address that he would run for Vice President alongside Go. However, Duterte quickly explained that a part of the broadcast was edited.

, he would only run for Vice President if his daughter, Sara Duterte, does not run for President in 2022. Meanwhile, PDP-Laban’s Karlo Nograles highlighted that the party believes in Go’s capabilities as a president.

But, according to Pacquiao’s camp, the Duterte-Go tandem could just be a “decoy candidacy”. Meanwhile, based on an article from Manila Bulletin, Ron Munsayac, the executive direction/ chairman of the Pacquiao led PDP-Laban wing said:

We will repeat our earlier statement that the grassroots members of the party believe that the Go-Duterte tandem is merely a smokescreen/distraction for their real candidate Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte

Furthermore, he emphasized that Duterte’s long-time aid, Go, would never run against his boss’ daughter. As such, they believe that the tandem would just serve as a distraction to protect their “Real candidate” from Political attacks.

“It’s just sad that the PDP-Laban, a party founded to fight against tyranny, dictatorship, and the one-family rule is being used by a handful of political appointees to extend their hold on power. The grassroots members of the party will not allow this to happen”

Additionally, Munsayac believes that the current senatorial candidates of the PDP-Laban are questionable seeing that they aren’t even members of the party.
