ITCZ to bring rain to parts of Luzon, Visayas – Pagasa
MANILA, Philippines —The intertropical convergence zone (ITCZ) will continue to bring rain to the Bicol Region, Calabarzon, Mimaropa and the Visayas in the next 24 hours, according to the state weather bureau on Tuesday.
During the afternoon and evening, the weather will be fairer in Luzon, including Metro Manila.

“May aasahan pa rin pong mga pag-ulan sa Bicol Region sa malaking bahagi ng Calabarzon at buong Mimaropa kasama ang Kalayaan Islands dahil pa rin sa epekto ng ITCZ,” said Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) weather specialist Ariel Rojas.
(Rains are still expected in the Bicol Region and large parts of Calabarzon and the entire Mimaropa, including the Kalayaan Islands, due to the effects of the ITCZ.)

“Ang Metro Manila naman at ibang bahagi ng Luzon makakaranas ng pagsikat ng araw, may paguulan pa rin, at mataas ang banta ng thunderstorms sa hapon at gabi,” he added.
(Metro Manila and other parts of Luzon will experience sunnier weather but will still experience rain and a higher chance of thunderstorms in the afternoon and evening.)
Rains caused by the ITCZ will persist throughout the Visayas as well.
While the weather will be fairer in Mindanao, thunderstorms will likely occur during the afternoon and evening hours.
Pagasa forecast temperature range in key cities/areas for the next 24 hours:
Metro Manila: 25 to 32 degrees Celsius
Baguio City: 16 to 24 degrees Celsius

Laoag City: 24 to 32 degrees Celsius
Tuguegarao: 23 to 34 degrees Celsius
Legazpi City: 23 to 32 degrees Celsius
Puerto Princesa City: 25 to 29 degrees Celsius
Tagaytay: 22 to 29 degrees Celsius
Kalayaan Islands: 26 to 29 degrees Celsius
Iloilo City: 25 to 31 degrees Celsius
Cebu: 23 to 31 degrees Celsius
Tacloban City: 24 to 31 degrees Celsius
Cagayan De Oro City: 22 to 33 degrees Celsius
Zamboanga City: 24 to 34 degrees Celsius
Davao City: 25 to 34 degrees Celsius
On the country’s seaboards, only slight to moderate sea conditions are expected.
“Malaya pa rin pong makakapalaot ang ating mga kababayan mangingisda at ‘yung may mga maliliit na sasakyang pandagat, dahil wala po tayong inaasahang malalakas na alon,” said Rojas.
(Fishermen and those with small marine vessels will be able to sail freely because no strong waves are expected in the country’s coasts.)
