Power restored in Visayas areas hit by blackout — NGCP

MANILA, Philippines — Power transmission services have been restored in areas in the Visayas that were affected by lightning, the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) said Saturday afternoon.

“NGCP fully restores power transmission services to areas in Visayas affected by the lightning strike to NGCP’s Cebu-Quiot-Colon line,” the NGCP said in a statement.

“The last remaining feeder, which affected the franchise area of LEYECO V, was restored at 12:16 PM today. All other affected loads were restored by 5:48 AM,” the statement read.

earlier affected parts of the Visayas shortly before midnight on Friday, which was blamed on lightning.

The NGCP earlier said the incident caused power interruptions across Cebu, Leyte, Samar, and Bohol. It assured that efforts to restore power transmission services in the affected areas began immediately.
