Pasig City Forced Gym to Close for Alleged Violations of Minimum Health Protocols

The local government of Pasig City has ordered closure against a gym that was found with minimum health protocols violations.

Under stricter community quarantine, a fitness facility in Barangay Manggahan, Pasig City, was shut down for violating the minimum health protocols released by the authorities to help prevent the spread of contagious disease. The gym’s owner, Francis Dominic Balones, as well as gym instructors Jaster Vincent Garcia and John Lloyd Dado, and gym worker Joshua Lauron, were all detained.

Based on the report, a total of 28 people were given tickets for violating the quarantine rules. The operation of Kickstart Fitness Gym, located at 0344-B, Amang Rodriguez Ave., Barangay Manggahan, has been the subject of a complaint, according to police.

After the verification of information received from a concerned resident, 32 persons were discovered inside the gym. Those arrested have been charged with violating the Inter-Agency Task Force’s regulation (IATF).

The operation of gyms is restricted under the enhanced community quarantine (ECQ). According to the city’s Business Permit and Licensing Office, the establishment will be closed for seven days.

Meanwhile, in Biñan, Laguna, individuals who are arrested violating health rules will not receive cash aid from the city administration in the midst of the already financially devastating pandemic. The city has seen an increase in virus infections as well as violations of many health protocols.
