MANILA, Philippines — Most parts of Luzon are expected to have cloudy skies and rains, while Visayas and Mindanao will have fair weather conditions, the state weather service said on Wednesday.

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa), in its latest report, said the rains in western part of northern and central Luzon are due to the southwest monsoon or habagat.

“Patuloy ang epekto ng habagat sa malaking bahagi ng Luzon, ibig sabihin dito sa Visayas and Mindanao, asahan ang fair weather conditions — maaraw na panahon at saglit na mga thunderstorm,” weather specialist Benison Estareja said.

(The effects of southwest monsoon will continue in most parts of Luzon, while in Visayas and Mindanao, fair weather conditions are expected — sunny weather and occasional thunderstorms.)

“Dito naman sa Luzon, ang pag-ulan natin ay concentrated dito sa western sections ng central and southern Luzon. Habang sa natitirang bahagi ng Luzon, asahan natin, mostly cloudy skies at mayroon ding saglit na pag-ulan dulot ng localized thunderstorm,” he added.

(Here in Luzon, the rains are concentrated in the western sections of central and southern Luzon, while the rest of Luzon is expected to have mostly cloudy skies and rains due to localized thunderstorms.)

In Luzon, Metro Manila is projected to have temperatures ranging from 24 to 32 degrees Celsius; Tagaytay City at 22 to 31 degrees Celsius; Baguio City at 16 to 23 degrees Celsius; Laoag City at 24 to 32 degrees Celsius; Legazpi City at 25 to 32 degrees Celsius; Tugegarao City at 24 to 37 degrees Celsius; and Puerto Princesa City, with 25 to 32 degrees Celsius.

In Visayas, Cebu is projected to have temperatures ranging from 25 to 33 degrees Celsius; Iloilo, 26 to 32 degrees Celsius; and Tacloban at 26 to 32 degrees Celsius.
