SSS extends contribution payment for ‘NCR Plus’ regular employers

REGULAR employers in NCR Plus were given more time to pay their February 2021 contributions after the state-run Social Security System (SSS) stretched the payment deadline.

NCR Plus is composed of the National Capital Region and its adjacent provinces such as Bulacan, Cavite, Laguna, and Rizal.

In a statement on Thursday, SSS President and Chief Executive Officer Aurora Ignacio, said the payment deadline was extended from March 31 to April 30 this year, in support of members and employers affected by the two-week enhanced community quarantine (ECQ), which started last March 29.

According to the SSS, employers based in the affected areas with approved installment proposals are also given until April 30 this year to deposit their post-dated checks that fall due in March 2021.

Payment deadlines of regular employers for the applicable months after February 2021 will follow its regular schedule.

Meanwhile, household employers, and self-employed, voluntary, non-working spouses, and land-based overseas Filipino worker members will continue to follow their regular payment schedules.

“The SSS encourages employers and members to use online and alternative payment channels for their contributions,” the SSS said.
