‘Bising’ maintains strength, Signal No. 2 up in Catanduanes, Samar

Typhoon ”Bising” maintained its strength while crossing the Philippine Sea, prompting the weather bureau to raise Signal No. 2 in Catanduanes and Northern and Eastern Samar on Sunday.

Signal No. 1 was up in the eastern portion of Camarines Norte (San Lorenzo Ruiz, San Vicente, Vinzons, Talisay, Daet, Mercedes and Basud), Camarines Sur, Albay, Sorsogon and Masbate including Burias and Ticao Islands in Luzon.

In the Visayas, signal number 1 was raised in Biliran, Leyte, Southern Leyte, and the northern portion of Cebu (Tabogon, Borbon, San Remigio, Bogo City, Medellin and Daanbantayan) including Bantayan and Camotes Islands.

Signal No. 1 was also up in Dinagat, Siargao  and Bucas Grande islands, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said in its 11 a.m. bulletin.

At 10 a. m. on Sunday, the typhoon was located 375 kilometers east of Juban, Sorsogon or 345 km east of Virac, Catanduanes.

It was moving north-westward at 20 kilometers per hour (kph) and had maximum sustained winds of 215 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 265 kph.

Pagasa said the typhoon will bring moderate to heavy to at times intense rain in Eastern Visayas and Bicol Region.

On Monday, moderate to heavy with at times intense rains will be felt in Bicol Region and Northern Samar.
