2 killed, 2 wounded in Pangasinan gun attack

DAGUPAN CITY – Two were killed while two others were wounded in a shooting incident at noon on Sunday, April 18, in Umingan town, Pangasinan province.

Police identified one of the fatalities as Rosemarie Castro, 54, of Barangay Cabalitian, who was caught in the crossfire.


The other fatality was the still unidentified suspect who started the shooting.

Police said Rolando Caspillan, councilman of Barangay Tanggal Sawang, was on board his tricycle when two unidentified assailants fired shots at him in Barangay Papallasen.

Caspillan, who was also wounded, managed to shoot back and killed one of the gunmen.

Also wounded in the shooting was a certain Sheryl Sepanton, a resident of Barangay Papallasen.

Investigators have yet to determine the motive behind the attack. INQ
