LPA spotted off Mindanao

A low pressure area spotted outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) is likely to become a storm in the next three days, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said on Monday.

The LPA located 1,845 kilometers east of Mindanao has not affected most parts of the country, according to weather specialist Meno Mendoza.

He said Luzon and Visayas will have fair weather due to the easterlies or warm winds coming from the Pacific Ocean.

“However, scattered rain showers may still happen especially in the afternoon and evening due to localized thunderstorms,” Mendoza said.

Mindanao will experience warm and humid weather with a higher chance of localized thunderstorms, he added.
