Police net P81.6M in Metro drug sting

Police over the weekend seized P81.6 million worth of “shabu” in separate operations in the cities of Pasay and Parañaque that left three drug suspects dead.

On Sunday, agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency conducted a buy-bust in Barangay 201 in Pasay City.

Upon sensing that they were dealing with police officers, the drug suspects drew their firearms, prompting the police officers to fire back, according to PNP chief Gen. Debold Sinas.

Authorities recovered seven kilograms of suspected “shabu” packed in teabags, amounting to P47.6 million. They also confiscated a brown vehicle, P1.5 million, and firearms.

Police identified the suspects only through their aliases, “Domeng” and “Rey.”

On Saturday, PDEA operatives also conducted a drug operation in Barangay Sun Valley in Parañaque City.

The target, Richard Gumander, was allegedly the distributor of illegal drugs in Metro Manila and its nearby provinces.

Gumander allegedly died fighting the police.

Recovered from the suspect were around five kilograms of suspected “shabu” packed in teabags, with a value of P34 million and a firearm.
