500,000 doses of Sinovac vaccine arrive

At least half a million doses of Sinovac vaccine arrived in the country on Sunday.

Vaccine czar Carlito Galvez Jr., along with other officials of the National Task Force against coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19), witnessed the unloading of the vaccine at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport.

The shipment is part of the 25 million doses of Sinovac vaccine procured by the Philippines from China.

The first batch of 1 million Sinovac doses arrived on March 29.

The country also expects 500,000 doses of Gamaleya’s Sputnik V vaccine to arrive this month.

The government is now vaccinating health care workers, senior citizens and persons with comorbidities.
