Suspected NPA rebels kill 2 soldiers in Negros Occidental
BACOLOD CITY, Negros Occidental, Philippines – Two soldiers traveling on a motorcycle were killed in an ambush in Sitio Cambaga, Barangay Yao-yao, Cauayan town, Negros Occidental at about 2:20 p.m. on Black Saturday, April 3.
Major Cenon Pancito, chief of the Army’s 3rd Infantry Division, said the soldiers, who belong to the Army’s 15th Infantry Battalion, were killed by suspected members of the New People’s Army as they were traversing a road in a remote area.
Pancito withheld the names of the two fatalities as their families had not been informed about their death.
