Suspected drug pusher killed in Davao del Sur town sting operation

DIGOS CITY, Davao del Sur, Philippines — A suspected drug pusher was killed in a buy-bust operation by a team composed of police officers and agents from the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) in Barangay Buenavista in Bansalan town, Davao del Sur, on Good Friday, April 2.

Major Peter Glenn Ipong, Bansalan police chief, said the suspect, Eduardo Dugho Jr., 39, was selling crystal meth to an undercover police officer past 2 p.m.

According to Ipong, Dugho drew a gun and fired when he sensed his customer was a police officer.

The undercover officer was hit in the chest. Fortunately, he was wearing a bulletproof vest. So he managed to return fire, killing Dugho.

Dugho, alias Edward, was pronounced dead in a hospital where he was taken.

He was a resident of Libungan, Cotabato.

Seized from Dugho’s were the .38-caliber revolver that he used, a mobile phone, various identification cards, and some 5 grams of crystal meth valued at P34,000.
