Ellen Adarna says yes to Derek Ramsay

CELEBRITY couple Ellen Adarna and Derek Ramsay announced their engagement on Tuesday night.

Adarna posted a series of the proposal photos through her official Instagram account with a caption, “Game Over @ramsayderek07.”

Based on the snaps, the event was attended by both sides’ close family and friends who included Elias, Adarna’s son with actor John Lloyd Cruz, and Austin – Ramsay’s teenage son with non-showbiz ex-wife Mary Christine Jolly.

Ramsay prepared a “Will You Marry Me?” neon décor sign which left Adarna in shock at the photos. The 32-year-old actress also displayed the diamond ring given by Ramsay.

The comment section was immediately flooded with congratulatory messages from their celebrity friends, including Heart Evangelista, Iza Calzado, Luis Manzano, KC Concepcion, Ruffa Gutierrez and Beauty Gonzales, among others.

It was only in February when the controversial pair confirmed their relationship, a month since they made it official.

In an interview with showbiz site PEP.ph, Ramsay said that there was a “spark” when they first met at a New Year’s dinner party that kick started the rumors. Speculations on their budding romance continued after they were later seen together again in Batangas, and then again at a Valentine’s Day dinner party at Ramsay’s new home.

“Tama ka, may spark talaga. Sobrang laking spark. We just really are enjoying each other’s company. Sobra,” he said.

In the same interview, Ramsay added that there wasn’t any courtship, but he was always the one inviting Adarna out.

The couple also agreed that “one month feels like one year.”

“Sa isang month, meron na kaming tawanan. Meron na kaming tampuhan… lahat meron na,” Ramsay added.

Ramsay and Adarna’s relationship was a surprise to the fans after the actor broke up with actress Andrea Torres back in November 2020, less than a year since they began dating in September 2019.

Reports of the breakup circulated after online users noticed that the two removed photos of them together from their respective social media feeds.

Ramsay and Torres first worked together on the GMA Network drama “The Better Woman”.
