PH’s COVID-19 active cases near 120,000 mark with 9,595 new infections

MANILA, Philippines — The tally of active COVID-19 cases in the Philippines is nearing the 120,000-mark as the Department of Health (DOH) reported 9,595 additional cases on Saturday.

In its latest data as of March 27, the DOH said the country now has a total of 712,442 COVID-19 cases, of which 118,112 are active infections.

Of the active cases, 95.1 percent are mild, 3.2 percent are asymptomatic, 0.7 percent are critical, 0.7 percent are severe and 0.39 percent are moderate.

Meanwhile, there were also 481 new recoveries and 10 additional deaths, bringing the total to 581,161 and 13,159, respectively.

Nine duplicates, of which five were recoveries, were removed from the total case count

And there were four cases that were previously tagged as recoveries were reclassified as deaths after final validation, the DOH said.

“Eleven labs were not able to submit their data to the COVID-19 Document Repository System (CDRS) on March 26, 2021,” the DOH added.
