PH’s new all-time high: 8,019 fresh COVID-19 cases
MANILA, Philippines — The Philippines has reached a new all-time high in its single-day increase of COVID-19 cases on Monday at 8,019, as the nationwide total case count now stands at 671,792.
The Department of Health’s (DOH) COVID-19 bulletin likewise indicated that active COVID-19 patients are now at 80,970, which is 12.1 percent of the total recorded infections in the country.
Most of the active cases or 95.4 percent only experienced mild symptoms while 2.2 percent were asymptomatic, according to DOH. Another 1.0 percent of the active patients were of severe symptoms while 0.9 percent were in critical condition, it added.
DOH, meanwhile, said that an additional 103 new coronavirus disease patients were able to recover, driving the nationwide tally of recovered patients to 577,850, while four more fatalities brought the death toll to 12,972.
