Pagasa sees warm Monday weather due to easterlies

MANILA, Philippines — Southern Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao will have humid weather, with partly cloudy to cloudy skies and isolated rain showers and thunderstorms due to the easterlies, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said Monday.

Pagasa weather specialist Loriedin dela Cruz said the northeast monsoon is prevailing over extreme Northern Luzon, while the  tail-end of a frontal system is affecting the weather in the rest of Northern Luzon.

Habang pagdating naman ng hapon o late afternoon hanggang gabi ay mataas ang tsansa ng mga thunderstorm,” she said in a weather forecast issued by Pagasa at 4 a.m.

(The easterlies are dominant in the rest of the country. It is prevalent in Southern Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao. We can expect humid weather at noon and early afternoon. In late afternoon until evening, thunderstorms are likely.)

Easterlies are warm winds coming from the Pacific Ocean.
