NEW cases of Covid-19 decreased a bit on Sunday from the record high recorded on Saturday, the Department of Health said.
On Sunday, the department tallied 7,757 new infections, bringing the total to 663,794.
It was the second highest daily caseload this year, only behind the 7,999 cases on Saturday.
The DoH reported that 15,288 more patients survived the virus, increasing the number of recoveries to 577,754. There were 39 new deaths, for a total toll of 12,968.
Worldwide, there are 122.8 million Covid-19 cases, with 2.7 million fatalities, according to Johns Hopkins University Covid-19 case tracker.
