COVID-19 hits 4 senior citizens in San Pablo City

LUCENA CITY – Four senior citizens and six others contracted COVID-19 in San Pablo City, local authorities said.

The San Pablo City Anti-COVID-19 Task Force, on Friday said the 10 new validated virus carriers recorded in the city includes three males ages 83, 66 and 63 and a female, 60.

The octogenarian patient and the old woman have symptoms and are confined in an undisclosed hospital while the others are in a community isolation facility.

The city has logged a total of 1,329 COVID-19 cases (70 active) 1,216 recoveries, and 43 fatalities since the pandemic started March last year.

As of Friday noon, Laguna, which is under the modified general community quarantine, has recorded 20,999 COVID-19 cases since March, 2020.

A total of 19,685 have recovered while 537 have died. The province still has 777 active cases.

The Department of Health has so far allocated 1,067 doses of Sinovac vaccines for healthcare workers in Laguna.

The vaccine rollout in four hospitals in the province started on March 6.
